The Land-Dweller boasts no fewer than 32 patent applications; 18 are unique to this watch, and 16 of them relate to its mechanism. It is a testament to the pioneering spirit that drives Rolex and a perfect companion for all occasions.

The Land-Dweller reinvents the complex and challenging design of watches with integrated bracelets. It comes equipped with a completely new metal bracelet – the Flat Jubilee – which integrates perfectly with the Oyster case. The Land-Dweller features an Oyster case with an exclusive design. The bezel, fluted or set with diamonds, displays a richly detailed dial with a honeycomb pattern.

At the heart of the Land-Dweller beats the 7135 caliber. This movement, at the forefront of watchmaking research, stands out for its 5 hertz frequency.

Thinner than most Rolex movements, it still offers exceptional performance. The basis of this performance lies in a regulation system composed of an innovative escapement – the Dynapulse – and a state-of-the-art oscillator.

Caliber 7135, a high-frequency mechanism.

The Land-Dweller is powered by the calibre 7135, a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex and launched this year. An evolution of the calibre 7140, which has equipped the 1908 model since its launch in 2023, the new self-winding mechanical movement offers exceptional performance, particularly in terms of precision, power reserve, comfort and reliability. Powered by a self-winding system via a perpetual rotor, the calibre 7135 stands out for its revolutionary regulation mechanism – escapement and oscillator – which allows it to beat at a frequency of 5 hertz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour, thus measuring time with precision down to tenths of a second. Thanks to its barrel architecture and the excellent efficiency of the escapement, the power reserve of this movement extends to approximately 66 hours. The aesthetics of the calibre 7135 have been designed with great attention to detail. Its bridges are decorated with Rolex's Côtes de Genève finish, while the hollow rotor is made of yellow gold.

Dynapulse exhaust

Seven patent applications have been filed for the highly energy-efficient Dynapulse escapement – the first component of the regulator system. The new escapement significantly improves how the energy supplied by the drum is transmitted to the oscillator.  

The Dynapulse is a sequential distribution escapement made of silicon, a material resistant to strong magnetic fields. It consists of a drive wheel that engages with two distribution wheels; these, in turn, activate the impulse rocker, which then connects to the oscillator. This innovative architecture reduces the energy consumption of the escapement, since the various components interact by rolling against each other, instead of sliding as in the case of the Swiss anchor escapements used in the brand's other mechanical movements.

Oscillator

The oscillator – another essential component of the 7135 calibre's regulation system – also demonstrates excellent resistance to strong magnetic fields. Several innovations have made this possible.

 One of them is the balance wheel, manufactured with a high-tech ceramic, patented and exclusive to Rolex. This is a remarkably strong and resistant material, used only in the manufacture of the balance wheel.  The balance wheel itself is made of optimized brass.

This is the first time Rolex has used an alloy like this, which, like the ceramic, is resistant to strong magnetic fields.  The Calibre 7135 incorporates a Syloxi hairspring with redesigned, thicker coils for greater rigidity. This modification provides greater power to the patented silicon hairspring – an essential factor for the movement to beat at 5 hertz, a frequency that allows the watch to maintain its chronometric precision regardless of the wearer's and arm's movements.

 Two optimized high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers dampen the ceramic balance wheel. Its special internal architecture allows the swing axis to rotate smoothly and evenly in any position.
